Hardware RTL Engineer (DSP Platform)

Key responsibilities:

  • Digital circuit design for DSP-platforms in the hardware
    engineering team (FPGA boards)
  • Integration of DSP processor cores (ual-core
    configurations, shared interrupts, boot-ROMs, memory interfaces,
    etc.)
  • RTL development, synthesis, optimization and testing of
    logic to control peripheral devices like Compact Flash, SATA/IDE,
    VGA, AC97, multichannel audio daughter-cards, USB1.1/2.0, Ethernet,
    etc.
  • Analysis of boards design and schematics
  • Participating in hardware design of multimedia
    applications, integration with video and audio codecs for the
    purposes of reference designs
  • Writing technical documentation and presentations on
    developed HW modules
  • Communication with USA/Indian colleagues and managers
    personally and by e-mail in English (including low-level SW drivers
    team)

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in electrical engineering and computer
    architecture
  • Experience in RTL development in Verilog, logic
    verification and debug (Xilinx FPGA, JTAG)
  • Performance analysis and validation, timing
    optimization
  • Skills in architecture of embedded devices and
    microprocessors
  • Understanding of system issues, able to write HW module
    design specifications
  • Experience of debugging HW and SW issues on FPGA-based
    boards
  • Experienced in debugging circuits by RTL
    simulation
  • Understanding of FPGA synthesis design flows, place and
    route flows (knowledge in SynplifyPro/Premier, Mentor Precision and
    Xilinx ISE)
  • Experience in board bring-up is highly
    desirable.
  • Understanding Subversion and Bugzilla is a
    plus
