Vice President of Research and Development

Requirements:
Outstanding track record of leading, hiring, managing, coaching, and motivating multi-discipline teams.
Excellent communications, conflict resolutions skils and ability to manage multiple functional roles (Program Management, Development, Test, Design, Documentation)
Ability to make quality decisions even with ambiguous data
Strong engineering background
12+ years of relevant experience within a technology-driven business, preferably within an Independent Software Vendor
Demonstrated success for repeatedly shipping quality products on time.
Fluent English required
Knowledge of the backup/restore/disaster recovery market is a plus

Responsibilities:
Timely and high quality delivery of the product
Own making all the final engineering decisions for the product across all disciplines (Dev, QA, PM, Doc, UI)
Communicate on a regular basis on the overall status/health of the product
Manage and assess performance of all the resources assigned to product with the goal to grow leaders
Drive engineering efficiency in the project by ensuring the correct tasks assignment, resource allocation, trend analysis and creation of new processes across all disciplines
Drives with the product manager the incorporation of the feedback coming from multiple sources (sales, support, customers, marketing, …) into the product
Primary interface for conflict resolution and negotiations with other products/teams
